I had lunch with a friend of mine a couple of days ago. She's working for an international company and her job is to support her foreign boss especially helping with Korean language.
She usually has a new foreign boss every 3 to 4 years. Her new boss came into her team in January this year.
But, her boss has never given her anything to work since then. My friend said to me it sounds like she got off on the wrong foot. She feels left alone. Because her two other team members communicate with the new boss. To make matters worse, her boss is good at Korean language. It's been more than 10 years since he has lived in Korea.
She is pretty sure that her former boss talked bad about her to the incoming boss.
Actually, she didn't get along with her former boss.
My friend is kind of a straight talker and is not submissive at all. Because of her nature, She was got wrong sometimes.
She told me she might leave her job. I advised her to have a sincere conversation with him to clear the air, but she is still reluctant.
Anyway. in a TV drama, you can see easily a worker mouth off to his or her boss, but in real life, that's not so simple and easy facing a mean boss. I believe that's how it should be ...
