In my office, each division is seperated by low partitions.
Half its workers are mostly male foreigners and most of the korean workers are female ages mid-30' to 50's. I'm a rare male person.
Since about two months, a female graduate student has been working as interne.
She is upbeat, young and good looking with a great language skills. Once she joined us, she was able to mingle with international workers, which maybe upset some korean female workers including my close colleagues. It may be out of jealousy. She has never been asked for lunch together by any of Korean workers. Consequently, she daren't get closer to the Korean workers.
But franklyI don't have any problems with her behavior (or attitude whatever). She eat and have conversations only with the foreign workers. Sometimes, she feel alone.
I felt like helping her out as talking partner but besides morning greeting and some quick questions-answers about work,
I never talk to her for fear of offending my close long standing colleagues.
I feel like a coward but I can't help it.
