New York is a popular tourism spot and accomodations are naturally expensive.
A male New Yorker came up with an idea to offer cheap accomodation in a taxi with a bed.
It costs 40 dollars a night. It's a great idea. If you save money in accomodation, you can get financial room as much for spending in other stuffs.
But in my opinion, Korean style spa would be more economical. In Korea, a spa entry fee cost just 10 or up to 20 dollars :)
