I'm very interested in history and archeology.
I saw a You Tube video about the archeologic site discovered in 2003 around Iksan area belonging to Baekje dynasty.
Some furrows and a bunch of wood sticks, believed to be rulers.
During the dig, the workers were enjoying thier break around the furrows but it smell subtly bad around this site.
The researchers found the soil in the furrows a quite number of parasites which usually live in human excrement.
This areas was turned out to be a public restroom of the Baekje dynasty and the wood sticks believed as rulers were used as toilette paper. It does not seem very clean from today's hygiene standards but at that time, this must have been a advanced way to clean the restroom users. This discovery allowed archeologists to know better about not only the public restroom culture but also food habits from the analysis of the parasites.
It is very fascinating !
